Amorphous alloy is a new soft magneticmaterial. It is produced through an advanced technology of rapid solidificationof molten metal at a cooling rate of about a million ‘C/sec. During thisprocess the metal is rapidly quenched as a form of ribbon with 25-35 µm in thickness,and the alloys show amorphous structure due to the high quenching rate.
Iron-based amorphousribbon has many advantages, such as high permeability, high saturationinduction, high electrical resistivity, high density, low core loss and goodstability. It can replace the materials of silicon steel, permalloy and ferritesfor soft magnetic applications. It is widely used in electronic products thathigh accuracy and good stability are the most required.
