Short Description:

“Nanocrystalline ribbon” usually means “nanocrystalline tape” or “nanocrystal ribbon”.

Iron-based nanocrystalline ribbon is a type of nanocrystalline ribbon. It has characteristics such as high saturation magnetic induction, high permeability, low coercivity and low core loss, and is widely used in some fields. For example, it can be used to make cores of high-frequency switching power supply transformers, current transformer cores, EMC common-mode inductors, filter cores, energy storage inductors, reactors, sensor cores, saturated reactor cores, magnetic amplifiers, magnetic shielding thin plates, wireless power transmission and pulse compressors, etc.

    Characteristics: High saturation magnetic induction can minimize the volume of the transformer; high permeability and low coercivity can improve the efficiency of the transformer and reduce the distributed capacitance; low core loss can minimize the temperature rise of the transformer; it has good permeability thermal stability between -40 to 140°C.
    • Physical properties: The saturation magnetic induction Bs is 1.25 T; the Vickers hardness Hv is 880 kg/mm²; the Curie temperature Tc is 560°C; the density d is 7.2 g/cm³; the crystallization temperature Tx is 510°C; the resistivity ρ is 130 μΩ·cm; the saturation magnetostriction coefficient λs is 2×10-6.

    Nanocrystalline ribbons of different thicknesses are applicable in different situations. For example, in applications such as high-frequency power transformers, common-mode chokes, and current transformers, the nanocrystalline ribbon with a thickness of 0.08mm has a filling factor of 78%-84%, and the recommended power loss of the high-frequency power transformer should be less than or equal to 20 W/kg (measured at 20kHz and 0.5 Tesla); while for wireless power transmission (magnetic shielding thin plates) and magnetic amplifiers, the recommended thicknesses are 23 - 26mm and 20 - 23mm, etc.
